WHERE IT ALL BEGAN…
Goodspero was born in January 2012, receiving much of its support and mentorship from seasoned entrepreneurs at the University of Houston’s Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at the C.T. Bauer College of Business in Houston, Texas.
Before starting Goodspero, co-founders Jessica Bolaños and Nelson Vanegas each gained over 10+ years of multimedia marketing and production experience in radio, TV, social media, marketing and commercial advertisement. They’ve worked extensively and gained experience alongside various local, national and international organizations.
In August 2012, with seed funding assistance from friends, families and complete strangers, Goodspero launched a crowd-sourced/crowdfunded project to build micro-libraries in Colombia, South America, bringing books and educational resources to youth in remote and under-resourced areas.
The following year, launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to bring books and resources to youth in El Salvador, Central America. (Background note on our founders: Jessica’s family immigrated to the U.S. from Colombia in the 1970s and Nelson and his family immigrated to the U.S. in the early 80s from El Salvador during the civil war.)
Since officially forming as a company in 2014, Goodspero has been working alongside various organizations interested in using video and digital media by way of 3 main focus areas:
1—Creating Content: videos, photos, audio, 360° VR, and social/video graphics
2—Social Media Support: social media consulting, social media ads, and event/campaign social media management
3—Professional Development: teaching teams DIY video and social media to reach organizational and personal goals through workshops, training sessions and speaking engagements
