Nearly 1/3 of undergraduate students in the US are first-gen, defined as those who have no parent with a bachelor’s degree. Based on a recent study by the @usedgov National Center for Education Statistics, only 48% of #1stGen students are on track to graduate 3 years after enrollment, compared to about 66% of non-first-gen students. #FirstGen students are also more than twice as likely to drop out of college within 3 years (33%) than students whose parents have a bachelor’s degree (14%).⁣
"Across the nation, only half of all students from low-income communities graduate from high school and only 10% earn a ⁣⁣
